It’s seriously weird just how much things change throughout our lives. I’m an old lady now, however I can recall in my youth it was legitimately very different than today. I was merely a teenager while in the Civil Rights movement, so I can easily recall what it was like beforehand. I grew up in the South and saw things in my childhood that are totally unthinkable now. The wheels of society seem to press onward at a slow rate for a long time, and then jump to lightspeed for a small, brief, however vital moment. On a much smaller scale in terms of overall importance, I think we are seeing one of those moments right now. Medical marijuana has speedily picked up pace as far as legality goes, and it’s a trend that will continue until it’s legal all over the place. The reasons behind making cannabis illegal in the first place are legitimately dubious. It mostly has to do with William Randolph Hearst using false journalism to attack marijuana because he basically stood to lose a fortune because of it. That is a great deal in the past though, and brighter minds can easily see the uses medical cannabis has for those who are suffering in this world. Now we just need to get some solid agreements between the states that have legalized medical marijuana, and the federal government. This strikes directly at the heart of the law passed so long ago due to Hearst’s total lies and the time to repeal it is long overdue. Not only is there no medical social reason to keep medical marijuana illegal, however it basically laughs in the face of American freedoms.
